Swimming Question of the Week - October 13, 2010

Posted by Glenn Mills on Oct 13, 2010 04:03PM (1,634 views)

We all go to the pool just about every day, and we were just wondering about "taking things for granted."

Have you ever thought about the work that really goes in to BUILDING a pool?

Who's had some experience, and any horror stories?

Seeing the 50-meter pool I swim in empty was pretty shocking. I never really think about how much water it holds, but an empty pool looks gigantic!

Our club's regular pool was originally just going to get a "touch-up" as part of larger works on the attached recreation centre. Then as part of the larger works they discovered that our pool had a massive leak and was losing x1000's of litres a day - not a good look when the city has been on water restrictions for a number of years! So now, more than a year later we're training at a different pool - but hopefully we'll be back for the summer. From little things big things grow!
